Walt Disney has agreed to pay $43.3 million to settle a lawsuit filed in 2019, alleging that the company underpaid its female employees in California by $150 million over eight years compared to their male counterparts. As part of the settlement terms, Disney will engage a labor economist for three years to evaluate pay equity among its full-time, non-union employees in the state and address any disparities identified. If the settlement is approved, thousands of women who worked at Disney during the period in question will receive compensation.
