Disney and DirecTV have reached an agreement to restore Disney-owned channels, including ESPN, ABC, and FX, for DirecTV’s 11 million subscribers. The channels had been unavailable since September 1, causing subscribers to miss events like the U.S. Open, "Monday Night Football," and the presidential debate, as contract renewal talks stalled between the two companies.
The new deal includes updated package options for DirecTV customers, featuring Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. Additionally, a new stand-alone ESPN streaming service will be available at no extra cost for DirecTV subscribers once it launches.
