Amazon Doubles Down On RTO Policy

Amazon, the world's second-largest private employer, is standing by its new policy requiring all employees to work onsite five days a week. At an all-hands meeting, AWS CEO Matt Garman said most employees support the stricter directive, adding that those who don't prefer the office environment are free to seek other opportunities. Garman noted the previous hybrid model was ineffective, as employees weren't consistently in the office together. Amazon's return-to-office mandate, announced by CEO Andy Jassy, will take effect on January 2, 2025.
