T-Mobile has announced a definitive agreement to form a joint venture (JV) with the leading global investment firm KKR to acquire Metronet. This acquisition includes Metronet's broadband infrastructure, its rapidly expanding residential fiber business operations, and its existing customer base.
As part of the deal, the JV will also acquire Oak Hill Capital’s current stake in Metronet. Oak Hill Capital will reinvest to retain a minority position, and founder John Cinelli will also maintain a minority stake once the transaction is finalized.
