New benefits have or are rolling out for pregnant and postpartum employees in New York in 2025:

• Paid Lactation Breaks: Effective June 19, 2024, employees must receive 30-minute paid breaks to express milk.

• Additional Paid Leave: Starting Jan. 1, 2025, employees are entitled to 20 hours of paid leave annually for prenatal or pregnancy-related medical care.

• NYC Lactation Policies: From March 9, 2025, NYC employers must post lactation policies, engage in cooperative dialogues, and provide written accommodation notices.
