This year’s biggest rap feud has escalated dramatically, with Drake filing a legal petition accusing Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify of orchestrating a "scheme" to "artificially inflate" the success of Kendrick Lamar's hit song Not Like Us. The filing claims that Lamar’s chart-dominating, Drake-dissing track gained traction through a payola campaign involving bots and a deal where UMG allegedly offered Spotify reduced licensing rates in exchange for pushing the song to listeners. In response, UMG dismissed the accusations as "absurd." Both Drake and Lamar release their music under UMG-affiliated labels.
